A combined 30 years in commercial Vocational and Higher Education, delivering commercial education and training to workplaces and in organisations all over Australia, Asia and the Pacific, has shown us just how important it is to provide flexible, purpose-designed training. No two organisations are the same; each organisation has its own mission, goals and strategy and, every workforce is different.
CALearning listens to, and hears what you need and want from training and we also recognise that every person in your organisation is an individual working to a shared strategy.
We guarantee our training will impact immediately and we support all that we do with on the job coaching to make sure your workforce embeds new skills, improves processes and ultimately increases productivity.
Coaching is fundamental to CALearning’s approach
As a learning organisation with a limited budget for training, you need to know that the training you pay for is achieving the outcomes you need and delivering results. CALearning offers complimentary post training coaching to make sure that your employees not only learn new skills, attributes and knowledge related to their job and how they go about it during the learning event, but, that they also know how to apply it in their day to day work on the job.
Our training programs are designed for adult learners. They are learner focused so that participants can learn from their peers and, our programs also provide plenty of opportunities to practice and apply new skills throughout the training program. Our facilitators are on hand to guide and support the learning process and, to lead participants to that lightbulb moment.
All CALearning facilitators are highly skilled professionals in their own right, as well as certified adult Trainers and so are able to provide context and examples gathered from many years of diverse professional practice around the globe.
Despite the interactive, hands-on, experiential program design, some learners can still find it challenging to translate the learning to their current work environment. That’s why we provide additional coaching support post training for all employees. Often this is just a simple matter of providing some context to help them to apply it, while other times it may require more of a shared problem-solving approach where our coach acts (as a mentor would) to support the learner to help them work through the situation and, to apply what they’ve learned.
Work-related training must produce results. Our coaching model ensures that it does and provides a convincing return on training investment (ROTI)!
You will discover that CAL is different to other RTOs.
We will take the time to understand your organisation and your specific training needs. Wherever possible we link all our training to your strategic goals as well as your current operational objectives. We believe all employees need a clear line of sight through to the organisation’s goals to motivate and improve performance.
Where applicable we encourage your senior stakeholders to get involved with and behind these training programs. This might mean a welcome by the CEO or, a more detailed run-through of company governance processes by the HR Manager or Compliance Director. Tangible support from senior management is a powerful motivator for training.
CALearning also takes the time to understand all learners in a cohort so that the training program can be customised to fit the specific needs of the individuals in the program, alongside the organisational goals. Where possible, CALearning prefers to conduct a pre-program skills, knowledge and general attributes audit of all learners identified for a training program.
This audit (conducted simply and economically online) gives us valuable information about each learner, their preferences and current skills and knowledge base. Often we may also gather information on career aspirations and a range of work-related behaviours that help us to plan the most effective training program for the group as well as identify where individuals may require additional support and/or specific coaching etc.
